Who We Are

A Home with Heart: Care Rooted in Community

When longtime Methow Valley resident Jamie Finlan passed away, she left a remarkable gift – her estate – to The Cove foodbank, with a simple yet profound wish: to create something that would care for her beloved community.

From that wish, Jamie’s Place was born.

The Cove imagined a place where elders could remain surrounded by the valley they love – close to family, friends, and the rhythms of daily life. In February 2007, that vision became a reality with the opening of Jamie’s Place. Two years later, a second home – Mountain View – opened next door on the same property. In 2013, the Methow Valley Family Home Center Association was established as a nonprofit organization managing and operating both homes, carrying forward Jamie’s legacy of compassion and care.

We invite you to watch our short film and experience how a community came together to build a home with a heart – a place where dignity, connection, and care live side by side.

Living with Meaning,
Aging with Dignity

Aging should never mean isolation. Yet too often, elders in rural communities face the choice between being alone at home or moving away to an impersonal living facility. The growing aging population in the valley deserves an affordable, community-based alternative.

Jamie’s Place offers this – a real home where elders are known, valued, and supported to keep growing and thriving.

At Jamie’s Place, care is personal. Meals are shared around one communal table. Laughter fills the room. Nature surrounds us. And every resident is a part of a living, breathing community that honors the whole person – body, mind, and spirit.

Our Homes:
Jamie’s Place & Mountain View

Jamie’s Place and Mountain View are both licensed adult family homes in the State of Washington and contracted with the Department of Social and Health Services to serve residents, including those receiving Medicaid.

Each home welcomes six residents, where residents have their own private room and bath and share the larger home’s comfortable indoor and outdoor spaces. Our caregivers provide 24-hour support in a warm, family-style setting that reflects our compassionate care and the Methow Valley’s deep commitment to community.

Jamie’s Place is expanding to achieve our vision of meeting the long-term care needs of all Methow Valley elders and preparing the next generation of caregivers.  Our plan includes a new facility for leading-edge elder care, addressing the shortage of caregivers in the broader community, and a commitment to caring for our most vulnerable.
