Volunteer

Volunteer activities with elders are on hold in compliance with measures required to prevent the introduction of Coronavirus into our adult family homes.

Jamie’s Place commitment is to provide care in an environment that allows our community's elders to age in place where they can continue to grow, develop, and maintain a meaningful life while staying connected to family, friends, and community. Volunteers bring so much talent and joy to the residents – they are appreciated by all at Jamie’s Place

We have developed a Lunch With Elders program so volunteers from the community can come to Jamie’s Place, get to know our elders, and share in the multi-generational experiences that are so meaningful and rich for everyone involved. Lunch With Elders is a simple way to share love, stories, and a meal. Jamie’s Place will provide a meal for the volunteer (same as what the elders are eating that day). Sign up through Volunteer Methow.

We also have a Music Program at Jamie’s Place for local musicians to come and share their talents with our residents. Music is a universal language that spans generations. Elders love it when musicians come to brighten their lives with beautiful sounds. Please consider sharing your music skills in this meaningful way. Sign up through Volunteer Methow.

And… there are many other ways to volunteer:

  • Board committee work in outreach, fundraising, finance and admissions

  • Doing art, music projects with elders

  • Reading with elders

  • Gardening

  • Yoga/exercise programs

  • Painting fingernails

  • Household chores (dishes, meal prep, cooking, vacuuming, dusting)

  • Building maintenance

The State of WA requires volunteers to fill out forms and complete TB tests for protection of elders as a vulnerable population.
